The Association is an affiliate of the New York State Conference of Mayors (NYCOM) and maintains an important part in the planning and implementation of the Annual Fall Training School conducted by the Conference of Mayors and the Department of Audit and Control of the New York State Comptroller's Office.

The Association is also affiliated with the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) and supports the aims of the IIMC. The IIMC's membership spans worldwide.
