We hope this email finds you well. Region 1 Director Sue Haag and I are pleased to share with you some of the first details of our annual gathering:

Event presenters – back by popular demand:
Sunday – Athenian Dialogue facilitated by Sue Haag, Region 1 Director and Town Clerk of Austerlitz, NY (Sneak Peek on topic – The wonderful, whimsical Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum is a few blocks from the hotel)
Monday & Tuesday – Cathy Donahue, Central CT State University School of Business adjunct professor and CT Municipal Clerks Institute faculty member. Cathy specializes in business communications, marketing, productivity and performance. She is a 2023 Excellence in Teaching Award Recipient from the University, has presented to Region 1 for the past few years and is highly regarded as a trainer. Our working theme: Serving as a Public Official in 2024: Developing Grit, Tenacity, Perseverance and Resilience.
Lots more info to come, we look forward to hosting you and welcoming you to Springfield – home of the National Basketball Hall of Fame, MGM Casino, Mass Mutual Center, Springfield Museum campus (five museums – fine art, science, aquarium, planetarium, and more), many restaurants well known for German food and Italian food, fourth largest city in New England and 15th largest in Region 1, close to flagship Yankee Candle Shop in Deerfield, outlet malls and more. For history buffs – Titanic Museum and Historical Society, Springfield played a pivotal role in the Civil War, and was a stop on the Underground Railroad. The Springfield Armory is a National Historic Site and has the largest collection of historic American firearms in the world. Also home to Forest Park, as large as Central Park, and features a zoo, lake, playgrounds, formal rose garden, and more. So much to do in Springfield!

One is run by IIMC headquarters and one is run by the Region 1 members. We try to post duplicate info to both groups but sometimes we forget so joining both helps to stay connected.
We have 663 members in Region 1 in our seven states; Sue and I are ready to assist you with any questions you may have regarding IIMC, national certification as a CMC or MMC, the new EPP program, the 2024 IIMC conference in Calgary and more. Feel free to reach out at any time. Thanks everyone.
